MARKING 7/7 and diverse (4#) -

# London marks the July 7th terrorist bombings in a low key in accordance with the wishes of the surviving families. The PM laid a small wreath at Kings Cross subway station where the first bomb exploded. Four suicide bombers killed 52 commuters and injured many more on this date two years ago, sometimes referred to now
as 7/7. [sky]

CULT QAEDA -

"It was clear there were a number of
extremists there. I noticed all the signs:

the way these men moved their lips in constant, silent prayer, the way they kept their eyes trained on the ground in front of them, the way their trousers always hung just above the ankles, the way some of them walked. It was the same light step I had seen and learnt in the camps. I noticed the tranquil voices, the calm, steely eyes and the dark circles beneath them."

+ Yeah... welcome to the Zombie Club.

SoFlo: CYBERSTALKER CASE -

Targets Female Real Estate Agent -
No Restraining Order Issued -

Real Estate Agent Debbie Blasberg and her 11-year-old daughter were being bombarded by more than 700 lurid phone solicitations which turned out to have originated on Craigslist, which provided police with records showing the IP address of the user who posted the ads.

Nine of the 26 ads came back to an IP address that belonged to another real estate agent: Dean Isenberg at his home address. A raid on his home resulted in a police seizure of four desktop computer towers, two laptops and three BlackBerrys, thus far.

''There's nothing I've done wrong,''
claims Dean Isenberg who remains at large.

+ I don't expect him to be arrested without evidence; however, a Restraining Order should be issued to give Ms Blasberg some relief!

Bookish: NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED -

C Max Magee of The Millions blog gives us:

The Most Anticipated Books
of the Rest of 2007.

You may want to jot down
some which catch your interest.

I really enjoy that blog and I am flattered that they have bookmarked me, which also makes me feel guilty about not restoring my sidebar links yet. Sigh... I know, I know... I have to do it.

A couple of extra notes: We have entered into our rainy season here in SoFlo, which makes blogging a bit erratic because it can be interrupted suddenly by tropical thunderstorms with very dangerous and destructive lightening. They often occur in late afternoon about 3-5pm, but they can happen at any time.

I also wish to note that PBS has been broadcasting The Ninth Doctor season of Doctor Who lately and The Empty Child (in two parts) easily equaled or surpassed the best TV shows of this genre.

SoFlo: WANNABE TV JUDGE
ACCUSED of Exploiting Elderly Woman -

Broward Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin who presided over the nationally-televised proceedings of the Anna Nicole Smith case has been accused of exploiting his elderly neighbor who has transferred thousands of dollars in real estate and other financial assets over to him and his family.

Seidlin is reportedly poised to abandon Florida soon in order to participate in a Los Angeles-based TV show deal thousands of miles away on the West Coast, leaving it unclear who is responsible for the 81-year-old woman, which could require the intervention of the Office of Public Guardian on behalf of the senior citizen's best interests.

Meanwhile, a request has been initiated for Gov Crist to appoint an outside agency to investigate Seidlin.

SHUTS DOWN JAXNVILLE (2#) -

# "An area of about 12 square blocks in
downtown Jacksonville FL was cordoned
off by police Sunday after they arrested a
man who was making a bomb threat." [t-union]

# "Apparently when he exited the vehicle he left
the flashers on and Arabic music playing. He was
saying some things in Arabic which one of our
officers just by chance was able to translate,
so we do know he was making threats about a
