SNAGGED: Salam Pax's Dear Raed wartime blog is to be made into a film. There isn't a lot of detail about this, but it appears that a company called Intermedia has bought an option on Salam's book and is looking for a suitable screenwriter to adapt the book Baghdad Blogger to the screen.

It looks like someone is being very optimistic, but, candidly, I don't view this as viable on a practical level right now. Did you notice what happened with the Big Brother Bahrain Project? One of my favorite recent anecdotes from the region was the one about the French Restaurant that gets invaded by several dozen sword-wielding fanatics who then advise the diners in there that they shouldn't be drinking wine. According to the latest news from Iraq, a ritual beheading has just taken place like in KSA. What film crew in their right minds is going to venture into Iraq? Maybe some day in a better world...
