Brendan Bernhard writes an article at the LA Weekly about the new Control Room movie. And he gets the opportunity to talk at some considerable length with Samir Khader, an Aljazeera senior producer and quelqun.

*According to Noujaim [the author/director], the film was inspired by her fascination with the way Arabs and Americans can look at the same events and see two entirely different things, sometimes in unpredictable ways.*

Dan Rather, a longtime respected CBS-TV newsman, was waylaid one day by a thug who severely beat him up while screaming at him: "Kenneth, what is the frequency?" The meaning of this incident has never been elucidated. And the mystery of who the thug was or what he wanted has never been solved.
