MUQTY vs SHURA: *But al-Sadr said the militants were his followers, and he described them as volunteers fighting for an honorable cause.*
The US presence in Iraq is for the purpose of establishing a government with shura. The previous government of Saddam Hussein was a "top-down" centralized command. The current struggle is to reverse this dynamic and to change it to a "bottom-up" dynamic from the grassroots to the top in order to ensure shura.
Clearly, Al Sadr is a very confused young man, as Moslem Scripture advocates government with shura. And Muqty is behaving obstructively.
His cause, to obstruct government with shura, is NOT "honorable." Perhaps, even worse, he is acting against the values advocated by Scripture. In short, Muqty is behaving very badly.
Be that as it may, youngsters should stop referring to him as "Fatso" and "Grease Ball." Although it may be tempting, it's not helping matters.
This whole article, pointed to by Drudge, is so sickening I could hardly finish reading it.
