Recently, on Sept 17th, Khalid Jarrar wrote on his mother's blog:
The Jarrars (Faiza, Raed and Khalid) are preparing to come to the states to make a tour, talk in Universities and other places, meet as much people as possible, to talk about Iraq and the war. We are looking for sponsorship...America is a big place; in a country of at least 250 million people it is possible that someone exists who would be willing to sponsor the Jarrars.
On the other hand, the Jarrars come with some heavy baggage.
Raed, in particular, as I recall, has been very outspoken about being "Palestinian," even though he was obviously born long after the end of The Palestine Mandate. The Jarrars live in Baghdad, have a second home in Jordan, and Raed attends school in Jordan.
Associating themselves with the "Palestinian" agenda means that they believe they have the right to live in Jerusalem and vote out the Jewish Government there.
I doubt that they're going to be happy with their reception in the U.S. in light of their "Palestinian" baggage.
While I find them charming as individuals and sympathize with Faiza's recent car-jacking ordeal, I don't think they're going to accomplish much of a constructive nature in trying to dialogue with Americans post-9/11. The "Palestinian" suicide bombers, mafiosos, and terrorists are leaving an acrid taste in the mouths of most Americans these days in the aftermath of the WTC event.
And it is also possible the the Federal authorities may not be willing to allow them to even enter the U.S., even though they seem to believe they have a right to come here.
