The Delhi Durbar, usually heaving on a Friday night with aid workers, United Nations staff, diplomats, and international consultants, looked cavernous with just a couple of Afghans eating in a corner. Its regular clientele were elsewhere, cooped up in safe houses with strict instructions not to go out, forced to watch DVDs to take their minds off worrying that the Afghan capital is becoming the new Baghdad...*
