JPOST SALE -

Hollinger has agreed to sell The JPost to Mirkaei Tikshoret Ltd. And CanWest, which is Canada's biggest newspaper publisher, will acquire half-ownership.

CanWest CEO Leonard Asper said his company has had a long-standing interest in The JPost, wishing to extend its reach and influence in North America and around the world.

+ Since they have a registration requirement, I'm not so sure their aspirations will be bountifully fulfilled. The question that is on most people's minds is whether their editorial "tilt" will survive. (I skip almost all editorials whenever possible.)
