+ I have no idea why the Bush Administration would do this, but this appointment may keep the conspiracy theorists busy enough so that they stay out of some other people's way. Errr, maybe that's the point.

Speaking of conspiracies and the like, is the James Bond movie position still open? I'd heard that it was temporarily filled, but the candidate didn't work out. If the role is still open, I'd like to nominate Adrian Paul to fill it. I think that Paul has worked very hard over the years, what with all that swordplay and fight choreography, so he's earned it. How come I don't hear his name being bandied about for the role? To whom are we supposed to submit this proposal? I dunno, but give it some thought, will you.
