Do I believe all this? Let's just say that I'm skeptical, since I still remember when Hollywood movie studios used to perform a similar PR function, matching up "romances" for people like Rock Hudson who was obliged to date gals even though he was actually interested in other guys.

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but there's a tremendous amount of Public Relations material in our Mass Media content these days. A glittering sprinkle of glamorous fairy dust, taken with a large grain of salt might not hurt.
