The decision was made after learning that two of the participants, Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau and Haifa Chief Rabbi Shar Yashuv Cohen will only be seated in the audience and not given a seat of honor...

Yediot Ahronot reports that organizers in Qatar responding to the reported boycott by Israel explain the rabbis are not being seated in a place of honor as a sign of protest over "Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians."*

*The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani on Wednesday morning inaugurated the third conference on the dialogue of religions at the Four Seasons hotel, Doha.

A representative of the Jewish Institutional Council in France, Bernard Canovic, expressed pride to address the conference. In his address, he praised the call for a meaningful dialogue and constructive communication as made by the Qatari.*
