*Al-Sharq al-Awsat reports today
that Jihad Ballout, the ubiquitous
spokesman for al-Jazeera, has
resigned from the station, citing
"professional differences" which
appear to be partly management
conflicts and partly displeasure
with recent changes in the
station's programming.*
