An award-winning children's book discussing a Palestinian girl's decision to become a suicide bomber is flying off the shelves at Edmonton's public libraries.

Three Wishes: Palestinian and Israeli Children Speak Out, by Canadian author Deborah Ellis, recently was yanked from school library shelves by the Toronto District School Board, which restricted access to the book to students in Grade 7 or higher.

Nora Abou-Absi, executive director of the Canadian Arab Friendship Association... "If it isn't inciting hate versus Jews or Palestinians, it shouldn't be an issue," she said.

+ It never seems to occur to anyone, including this reporter, that some Arab-American or Arab-Canadian parents might object to this issue even crossing the radar screen of their kids' consciousness. You haven't heard any of them voice angry objections? Maybe they haven't heard about it yet.
