THE Z*G CHAIR AT YALE -

I didn't know that Yale University has a Z*G Chair in its Middle East Department, but, according to John Fund, they're proposing to hire Prof Juan Cole.

I have some questions:

First, what is John Fund's connection to Yale? Is he an alumnus? Or does he have a youngster studying there? Just wondering.

Also, couldn't Cole just mail it in? Or has he added something so innovative to the genre that it requires actual facetime lecturing? Whatever that may be, is it infectious?

Ah, the theories! I can already feel the effects of the MEGO Factor.
