MYSTERIOUS CONFLICTS -

Overnight update . . .

A statement issued by Al-Qaeda in Iraq promised more fighting on Wednesday to commence at dawn "to avenge the Sunnis in Adhamiyah."

They announced their intention to attack "the Shiite areas" and any impediments to their battle plans.

Some residents have been fleeing.

+ NB: A different group was identified in a previous entry below. If accurate, that group may have been the nebulous "gunmen" who originally showed up in the district and may have triggered off this chain of violence. The Fog of War: it may take a while to get all the elements who participated in the episode sorted out.
