9/11: SEVERE CLEAR -

It was a beautiful morning before the Al Qaeda cult attacked the WTC office buildings five years ago; I understand such weather is known as "severe clear" conditions in pilots' jargon. It's been a difficult day to get through this time around. The attack opened a new era for us: the commencement of something called "The New Normal."

The Al Qaeda cult debuted a new videotape to mark the anniversary of their 9/11 attacks. It features Dr Zawahiri. These are simply my initital impressions of it.

I believe Dr Zawahiri disclosed that their essential cause of war against us is Muslim Humiliation. This is not something we can fix. It is his decision whether or not he chooses to be insulted, offended or humiliated. He controls his own attitude; we don't.

He warns that his cult is in the process of actualizing an attack in the Gulf region. I expect that the most vulnerable point for their incursion would be the Al-Faw peninsula which would include the area around the Shatt al-Arab waterway, Um Qasar, Al Faw and Basra. I suspect they also covet the satellite TV station in Qatar but might not be able to capture it because of the installation of CentCom nearby. Could they overrun the Al-Faw pennisula? I doubt it.

In addition to the wire services reports about this videtape, the SITE Institute shares their reaction to it. Eventually, we may be able to read more expert analysis.
