WEEKEND MEDIA NOTES -

# Heard Marc Lynch on this weekend's edition of On the Media, which you can listen to at your convenience. Topics included a jihadi betting pool Marc got sucked into rubbernecking on some offbeat message boards... As sometimes happens, his digression was even more interesting than the main discussion, which was about the reaction of the Arabic Press to the midterm elections, I believe.

# On another topic, Donald Rumsfeld's "media presence" was being described as somehow similar to his counterpart during the Vietnam conflict. Sorry, I don't see that at all.

# Unexpectedly, over the weekend, UK UFO Chief Nick Pope [see blog entry below] called in to Art Bell's radio show and sounded surprisingly credible. He agreed to come back again some time soon as a guest and even said he'd take questions from callers. Yeah, just when you thought it was safe to go out...

# Saturday Night Live: The opening skit, which was a sendup of Nancy Pelosi, was extremely funny. If it's floating around, try to catch it. I give it an A+. SNL
