Iraqis, who have become accustomed to scenes of slaughter with bodies mostly found on the roads without heads or in refuse dumps, have come to believe that they have no other way to avoid burial in strangers' cemeteries but getting tattooed so that their bodies would be easy to identify after death...

From Zeyad's latest column at IraqSlogger, I am led to infer that Mashadani tribesmen are supporting the Mujahideen. Is this accurate? The entire tribe? If so, is this why the 5 Mashadani tribesmen and their muezzin were so savagely murdered?

Also, via Zeyad: Iraqi journalist Ayad Al-Aboudi, a reporter for the Saudi Al-Watan newspaper, narrowly escaped murder at a fake checkpoint in the Bayya' district, south of Baghdad.
