BAHRAIN ELECTIONS -

It appears, based on an initial dispatch from AFP, that Sunni Islamists won more seats at the expense of some "liberals."

None of the 16 women candidates won, but one woman who ran unopposed, Latifa al-Qouhoud, will have a seat.

Because of the subtle complexities of their polity, we'll have to wait for more knowledgeable monitors to analyze these results. I think I'll revisit this story tomorrow.
