BLACK IS BACK! -

# Blogger Bob Norman has an article in Miami New Times in which he expresses his indignation at the anti-Black rhetoric he's read on the message boards of the Sun-Sentinel which are supposed to be managed by the Topix company. He concludes:

*The Miami Herald, smartly, has restricted comments capability to only a few stories, so it has largely been able to avoid the problems faced by the Sentinel.*

+ Yes, there does seem to be a problem with those message boards. There was a rage-filled thread there recently about Hanukkah music being made availabe via Satellite radio, too. People wrote in from as far away as Tennessee, who have probably never even met a Jew, to say how angry they were about it. I blogged about it earlier here.

Bob's article can be read in order to develop some awareness of the situation. But I think he's reacted in an emotional way. And I don't think he has a handle on what to do about it.

# Speaking of Black-related issues, according to the grapevine, the Haitian gangs involved in the recent Boynton Mall Massacre are said by some to be posing as rap singers. And a company called Top 6, which supposedly records rap music, is suspected of being their alleged godfather. I did a search query for that name, but came up empty.

Between Christmas and New Year the Media lays back a bit, pulling out their Bestof lists and such. Something has to fill the vaccum they leave. Right now, Fleet St and some BritBloggers are carping about the PM's vacation in Miami. A lotta grousing going on over there.
