SoFlo: THE "BADA BING" JUDGE -
Well, it's been wall-to-wall Anna Nicole Smith country down here all day. We got a brief break at lunchtime on the Noon News with a live-streaming car chase. Otherwise, it's still Blonde Illusions, but maybe slightly decomposing.
Judge Larry Seidlin has become a lightening rod to pick-pick-pick on. Judges often do become the focal point of a misguided Mainstream Media.
And now it's the SF Sun-Sentinel hectoring him. Colonel Muckluck couldn't resist piling on. Their editorial:
Smith case judge displays insensitivity.
Some of the worst class snobbishness I've noticed in the U.S. in years!
And catch the comment thread there in which Judge Seidlin has acquired this quaint nickname. Why? Because he talks like he comes out of Belmont, which is the Italian section of the Bronx.
Inside Baseball: Local lawyer Michael G Ahearn defends Judge Seidlin. Public Defender Howard Finkelstein's criticism of Seidlin was pretentous. I like Finkelstein and often sympathize with his perspective, but this time I disagree.
And in a more recent entry at that blog, No Circus Here, I like what Brian said in that comment thread.
