A man, tying his shoelaces in the middle of the street, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver before dawn on Sunday. [mherald]

Many drivers will aim straight at you. And even you're walking with the walk sign, they'll hook a right turn at top speed, blast their horn at you as if they have the right-of-way, and only stop inches away from your feet. And, if they think they can get away with it, they'll hit you.
