SoFlo: THE DINNERTIME BOMB -

Around 6pm last night, a Police Frozen Zone was declared in downtown Hollywood FL, and a tense situation developed.

Helicopters cruised low overhead while a perimeter was established around a bank where a male employee was situated with what he believed to be an explosive device taped to his chest.

The police kept him calm while they summoned the Broward County Sheriff's Bomb Squad who somehow safely detached the device from the bank clerk and detonated it without disclosing whether it had a (ticking) timing trigger or cell phone trigger or what. The two bomb experts did not appear to be wearing facial protectors or other safety gear when they approached the device, even though the local police said the device looked pretty convincingly for real.

And... oh, yes... the haul from this
horror story was estimated at about $10,000.
