Will Eisner's masked crime fighter, The Spirit.

Darwyn Cooke has gotten a positive review here for his new collection of six (graphic) tales which Danny Graydon asserts evoke the qualities of Eisner.

There are four sample color plates shown and a mere but intriguing mention of femmes fatales - would like to have caught a glimse of those ladies. No mention of time period, retro or otherwise, but he did use the magic word "noir."
