SoFlo: TV COUCH POTATO NOTES -
No Humans Involved, No Doubt &
Rumors of Goat-Sucking in Texas . . .
The cover story for this week's Miami Herald TV Schedule Section: Inspector Lynley's Final Case by John Crook. But don't bother looking for that story on the Herald's website; I couldn't find it.
I never warmed up to the Lynley series and don't expect to miss it. In Crook's story, though, Rebecca Eaton, the PBS producer, laments its end. What about Waking the Dead? PBS has not devoted one minute to promotion of WTD, which has been internationally acclaimed for its high quality.
And here's the kicker: week after week after week, persistently, PBS releases the wrong WTD program notes for the story being broadcast that week. Can we hold Ms Eaton responsible for this? Surely, she would blame computer robots. And I'm willing to accept that.
But can't we get a Human to rectify this problem?
And you'd think someone at PBS
would have noticed it by now... as if they cared.
