SoFlo: DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN -

Warning: Someone is trying to twist your thinking . . .

The Miami Herald has just inaugurated a new template for its website. I took the "tour" last night which was very nice. But there was a glitch when I visited their website this afternoon: the News Grid refused to give me a compilation of just Broward County news. Glitches and Bugs are to be expected during the process of introducing new templates.

Much more startling, however, is their apparent
inauguration of a new Disinformation Campaign:

"As Broward County becomes increasingly metropolitan, the number of students applying for free meals at schools zooms upward."

Broward County is NOT
becoming "increasingly metropolitan."

This kind of insidious drivel is common in Third World dictatorships, but is absolutely unacceptable in the United States.

The use of "metropolitan" as a synonym for POVERTY is not even remotely correct.

The Editor should have axed it out.

We don't need this kind of aggravation here.
