Saturday: where the news goes to die . . .
Fort Lauderdale officials are "tired of"
seeing homeless people "overrun" public places.
This story starts with an unsubstantiated allegation that a homeless man defecated on the steps of the local Women's Club, but presents no evidence of that. Is there any CCTV material to prove this claim?
Public urination by men is a ubiquitous problem in that town. Every restaurant parking lot I've been in there reeks from the stench.
More likely, it was a jealous husband who soiled the steps of the Women's Club, tired of his wife spending so much of her time there.
How does Fort Lauderdale normally deal with
those they perceive to be homeless? Very badly.
Much of what they do or don't do there depends heavily on their perceptions or misperceptions. The town is a haven for Nouveau Riche Red Necks. [sent]
