Chilling BOLO posters were seen around Peshawar Tuesday. Someone dropped a dime on a journalism student at the University of Peshawar, warning that he was going postal. The posters incorporated a blowup of his student
ID card.
# TV Mystery: Who pulled the plug on cable TV in Karachi on Monday? The Pakistani Government denies doing it. The government has ordered an inquiry into the blockage.
# Threats to journalists have increased; Peshawar is
becoming a no-go zone especially for foreign journalists.
# Bus Bullies: The Taliban sent a threatening letter
to the Daewoo Pakistan Bus Service, warning that:
"we will be waiting for you at a bus shelter soon and we will kill your driver or blow up one of your buses; we can also hit your female employees with our rocket launchers."
Following several threats like this, the CEO of the bus service has requested additional security from law enforcement agencies.
