Nick Pisa's latest update
on the case in Thursday's Mail raises
more questions for me than it resolves . . .

Pisa reports that the mother of Amanda Knox, Edda Mellas, gave an interview to the Italian magazine Oggi and has unveiled an appeal for funds to defray her living and travel expenses incurred as a result of her daughter's legal process.

This prompted me to wonder about her daughter's living expenses and accommodations. Is there any record which shows that Amanda Knox paid her November rent for the cottage on Pergola St or was she trying to stiff her roommates for the rent there since she was living with Sollecito, presumably, for free?

Perhaps the girls argued about that. Perhaps Amanda went to the cottage that night, intending to move some of her stuff to Sollecito's, but Meredith told her she couldn't remove anything until Amanda paid the rent that was due.

It's quite possible this has been discussed somewhere already, but I wasn't paying sufficient attention at the time. It is also possible that many of the details about this matter will remain hidden from our view until the trial.
