The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling is a book of five fables with commentary supplied by Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster at Harry Potter's school.

It is making its debut around the world simultaneously and looks like a year's end winner for the book business which has been in a downbeat mood recently.
