Re-victimizing
The 9/11 Victims (2#) -

I think the Cordoba Project to establish
a Ground Zero Mosque and Cultural Center

immediately adjacent to the physical site of the 9/11 Atrocity is terribly insensitive to the victims of that atrocity.

Direct experiencers are still seriously wounded with lingering health problems, as well as the loss of spouses, siblings, sweethearts, friends, colleagues, neighbors and loved ones. And, then, there's also a radiating ripple effect.

To make matters worse, some of the Mainstream Media have turned on them. These pompous and self-righteous miscreants have attempted to nullify and denigrate the victims' feelings of violation, trauma, grief and loss, by dragging a red herring into the discussion: accusations of bigotry.

Would they dare to try this same stunt on a victim of rape? I think not. They would be fearful of widespread public outrage at their attempts to re-victimize the victim of a crime.

But pundits who persist in churning out this pernicious drivel are now trying to use manipulative tricks to suggest that the 9/11 Atrocity victims should feel ashamed of themselves and, in condescending tones, they are condemning the victims for being irrational.
