Many residents of Broward County have come to regard the latest iteration of The Miami Herald as a foreign newspaper. The reasons for that perception might not be immediately clear to outsiders, but once in a while an article like this falls into your lap:

Gus Boulis, the one-time owner of the SunCruz gambling boat business, might have benefited from some bullet-proof tailoring when he was gunned down gangland style while driving his car in SoFlo way back in 2001. A trial for his alleged killers may finally begin later this year.

Shortly before his murder, Boulis sold his stake in SunCruz to Jack Abramoff, which was chronicled in the movie
Casino Jack starring Kevin Spacey.
