UNQUIET NEIGHBORS -
This is an excerpt from a background story on the Kuwait shootout below, but taken from a grassroots perspective:
*Abu Abdullah said he had wanted to record the whole incident on his camcorder but fate did not allow him. 'I returned from holidays in Dubai on Monday. As soon as we heard the police I asked my daughter for the video camera. I started shooting immediately but later realized that the battery was down. That was why I missed the opportunity,' he sighed. He said the militants, who he thinks were aged between 35 and 40, wore green track suits and sported long, thick beards. 'Those who surrendered were told by the police to come out in the open in their under wears to prevent any mishap in case they may have bombs strapped to their bodies,' Abu Abdullah told the Arab Times.

What baffles Abu Abdullah was the way the militants entered the imam's residence without breaking any door. 'I don't understand how they got to know that the Egyptian imam was on vacation, headed straight here and entered the residence without breaking the doors. I think they have lived in the house before.'*
