Launched on the Fourth of July,
Discovery and seven astronauts
have safely reached orbit.

2:45 PM - 61 miles above the Earth and moving at 5,000 mph, Discovery has passed the point of no return to the Kennedy Space Center. Flight is perfect thus far.
