BBC Critics: FRAMING
CONTRADICTIONS -

In an entry on the Editors' Blog, BBC Newsgathering Chief Fran Unsworth and her correspondent, Jim Muir, sharply contradict numerous other credible Mainstream Media sources about Hezbollah-controlled Southern Lebanon, denying that the BBC was operating under any constraints while reporting from there.

Many on the Comment Thread which follows are very hostile to the BBC's publicly presented position on this matter.

What could account for this apparent contradiction? One possible explanation: their lawyers told them to say this to the public, but the lawyers had been hitting the sherry prior to that conversation. This is just pure conjecture on my part, of course.
