M.E. NEW MEDIA -
Salam Adil has posted his new compilation for the Iraqi Blogodrome. Worth a shufty!
This past Thurs evening, BBC Newsnight featured two promised segments I wanted to watch. The next afternoon, I sat through the entire show, even though it was sized like a postage stamp on my laptop :-)
At about 31 minutes into the tape, the BBC arranged to televise a Blogging Meetup in Cyberspace. Unfortunately, the sound quality was so terrible that I couldn't understand most of it. Can't something be done to clean up and enhance the audio quality on this videotape segment?
The next segment at about 36 minutes into the tape, featured Salam Pax. It turned out to be pretty grim. For example, Salam went to a record store to see if he could purchase a Rock CD, but upon arrival, he discovered that Western music was now Haram and no longer available in Baghdad. The crackpots seem to be in the process of trying to turn Baghdad into another version of Kabul under the Taliban.
There was only one somewhat bright spot: the Iraqi TV production crews included a lot of gals! We visited the set of one Iraqi soap opera production called Orchestra, but you could have mistaken the project for something out of the French Resistance or the old Iron Curtain Underground. Wow, is this wacky! Soap Opera Subversives. Who would have thunk it?!
