Attorneys for a guardian appointed for Smith's infant daughter and for her lawyer and companion, Howard K. Stern, have until 2 p.m. today to file responses... Mandel, the attorney for Smith's mother, filed a motion Friday for an emergency stay of Seidlin's order. Seidlin denied the motion Monday, but by then Mandel had moved on to the 4th District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach FL.
