WHAT REMAINS -
The cameras made them say this...
and they just couldn't stop themselves:

Sock puppet columnist Fred Grimm, of course, agrees in lockstep with his newspaper's editorial on the subject of Judge Larry Seidlin. Working in the Echo Chamber of the Miami Herald, he could not do otherwise and continue to work at that newspaper longterm, as he has.

But, reading his Sunday column is enough to make one feel like banging one's head against a wall for its unrealistic take on the Probate Process:

"The staid, respectable proceeding of probate law..."

Fred Grimm has led a very sheltered life.

When a will is announced and the Probate Process commences, long-buried family secrets may emerge. Heretofore-hidden illegitimate children may be identified and recognized as heirs to the estate. Assorted mistresses may surface. And, if there were serial marriages, blended families and step-siblings only complicate the process even more. Wife #1, Wife #2, and, yes, even Wife #3 may try to get the best deal possible for their children.

The bigger the estate, the more potential contention can be expected. And then, there can be previously unknown assets which could be hidden in a desk drawer on a desert island or in coded bank accounts in foreign lands, or which can turn out to be of a far more lurid nature than the rest of the family ever expected.

What's so "staid" about all this?

Grimm's take on Probate is pathetically naive. Yet he smugly presumes that his limited experience in life is representative of the rest of world. Only in the MSM can you get such a totally clueless Echo Chamber of mutual back-scratchers.

The Miami Herald editorial exhibits nothing but contempt for the will of the people of Broward Country who have returned Judge Seidlin to the bench several times. And it makes Judge Seidlin a scapegoat for the madcap cast of characters in a case revolving around an unconventional Entertainment figure.

The simple truth is: the public wouldn't have been interested in watching this case if it were about Ordinary People.
