Felix O Piedra, former owner of the Birdland Pet Shop in Miami, and a male companion were returning from an illegal cock fight last month when they were ambushed by an SUV.

The marauders who emerged from the unfamiliar vehicle, wearing bulletproof vests, stole Piedra's Rolex watch , beat him, and then lopped off the tips of his pinky and ring fingers on both hands with a "sharp instrument."
