Until the shooting last Thursday evening, the two 66-year-old men resembled many in South Florida condominiums. Third-floor neighbors, two doors apart, each living alone...

# 954: A bizarre dominatrix scheme has been uncovered at the Broward County Jail, reminiscent of some of the famous Lynndie England photos in Abu Ghraib prison, but officials claim there's no videotape in this case.

The grand total for the latest prisoner's incarceration in this scheme cost county taxpayers nearly $21,000. On top of that, the public will pay $1,150 for his attorney.

An elderly Broward County man died while trapped in a 14-inch space between an elevator door and an illegally installed security gate on the third floor of a nine-story building that houses medical offices.

His body was discovered Monday morning by an employee arriving for work who called the police, but it isn't clearly how or when it happened.

After the 81-year-old man's death, an inspector from the Broward County Building Code Services Division went to the building, ordered the metal gate removed and cited the property for installing it. [sent]
