-- Celeb Yhosvany Carmona, a Cuban television personality, has fled Havana via the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and arrived in Miami last week.

-- Eliecer Avila has been allegedly arrested.

-- Blogger Yoani Sanchez [see sidebar links] won a Spanish award for her writing, but was denied a travel visa to collect her prize!

+ Lately, Cuba has been reminding me of Albania under Hoxha - isolated and about three hundred years behind everyone else.
