Bookish: DIVERSE SHORTS (5#) -

The New Weird is science-fiction/fantasy that explores strange, speculative worlds. I believe I read something about it at The Guardian, perhaps, on their Book Blog. Here, Paul di Filippo writes about some of the more recent candidates for this new subgenre and mentions some already-famous classics.

# A lovely chat: Anna Metcalfe talks with
88-year-old Mystery & Detective writer PD James.

# Roya Nikkhah interviews Bernie Katz, the gatekeeper at The Groucho Club in London's Soho. He's just published a book called Soho Society which is a slightly-fictionalized version of the party scene there.

# Jim E. asks Cynthia Crossen for some
recommendations in Mystery and Intrigue novels.

# Tim Martin writes about
Ghost Stories at Christmas.
