Blogging Interruption . . .
Well, hello again! I was sidelined the past fortnight or more due to a technical problem involving connectivity.
While the laptop was on the workbench, I asked the techie to fill in the rest of the RAM in the space that had been reserved for it when I first got it. And he did. That might add a bit of pep to its step.
Then, when I got it back, I discovered that I had to restore some of my personal settings.
It's been a long ordeal.
Did you miss me? Young people may not know this, but when you enter the business or corporate world, one of the first things they tell you is: no one is indispensable.
And so it goes.
In the interim, I got ready for the D-TV shift by replacing the mini-TV I've had on my kitchen countertop with a mini-TV that has the necessary hardware for digital reception.
Are you addicted to the Internet? The foregoing is a question which is popular in the realm of Junk Medicine these days.
Initially, I was grumpy when I lost the ability to connect to the Internet. Then, I busied myself with some household projects. But I did become somewhat restless, even with the new-fangled D-TV gadget to explore. TV just isn't enough for me; it isn't my cup of tea, I guess.
The Internet may have been a mere amenity when I first got my laptop. But today it has become integral to our lives. And it is a tremendous inconvenience when we don't have access to it. This has nothing to do with addiction - I think the "addiction" angle is merely a ploy to push more drugs on people and dope up America even more.
Regular Blogging should resume soon :-)
