In an almost poetic lament, Sa'ad Khan
writes about what has happened to his city lately:

"Once the city of flowers and Gardens,
Peshawar... was once a cultural heaven
for artists, musicians and intellectuals."

But more bad news for Peshawaris:
belligerents ended the old year by blowing
up the main gas supply line for the city.
