SoFlo Bookish:
Chilling Echos -

A recently published novel seems to foreshadow
a gruesome murder here in the French Quarter.

Julie Brown reports on the tragic friendship of two French youths before one of them, Beau Bruneau, allegedly killed and disemboweled his own mother.

When the dispatcher asked whether
his mother was conscious, he replied:

"No, she doesn't have a brain, sir."

Patrick Quéré's novel Grognard made its debut in July to mostly good reviews, but his publisher, Lawrence Knorr, has now suspended sales of the book.
