Kids Learning Computers (3#) -

Recently, more than 500 students at Holmes Elementary School in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami received a free OLPC green-and-white laptop, contributed by the John S and James L Knight Foundation.

It is the first such distribution inside the United States. Hitherto, the OLPC laptops have been distributed only in the Third World.

Meanwhile, their peers in the UK are working on a different kind of computer, one which encourages the kids to learn how to progam computers by writing computer code to produce new software applications, called the Raspberry Pi.
