They say that when you live in an Italian neighborhood, there are always "a hundred eyes" on you. This may account for the expected 90 witnesses. Now, add to that: 280 expected journalists. And what have you got?

According to Francesco Maresca, a morbid circus.

And that is why lawyer Maresca wants the Perugia court proceedings to be held behind closed doors.

But closed-door proceedings will only fuel more Conspiracy Theories. So far, we've come across rumors of the Illuminati, the Masons, the Jesuits, and some group called The Order of the Rose. I've never even heard of that last one. Are they related to the Rosicrucians? OK, so, throw in the Rosicrucians.

Maresca, the Kercher family representative, presents a scenario here that is worthy of a movie in itself, but, he insists, in his theory of the crime, it is "banal."

And he predicts that if the proceedings aren't closed, there will be a threat to public order. That prediction seems a bit overheated to me.

Meanwhile, Frank
is being targeted for a possible SLAPP suit.

"Good news as well for Perugia-Shock's haters. Giuseppe Castellini, director of Giornale dell'Umbria wrote the website that he's going to sue Frank Sfarzo for a number of zillions still to be decided."

I don't think Castellini appreciates the
(perceived) competition from Frank in Perugia.
