The trial of Seattle college student Amanda Knox and her lover Raffaele Sollecito, which was scheduled to start 4 December, has been rescheduled to begin 16 January, due to issues related to the organization of documentation.

Knox is accused of murdering her Eurasian roommate who was found dead, inside a locked room of the cottage the girls shared, having been fatally stabbed through the throat behind her Adam's apple.

Knox denies the charges, but some of the most basic questions are yet to be answered, such as: the location of the key to the locked room and whether Knox's rent had been paid for that November. Many of the details involved in the case remain hidden from public view; it is hoped that during the course of the trial revelations will resolve questions about the situation.

Knox has given contradictory accounts of her
whereabouts during the time period of the crime.
