Newspapers have always thrived on controversy, so it's not surprising that this movie, The Last City, has become a lightening rod attracting a media-friendly fuss.

Richard Owen eloquently explains the accusations and cross-accusations flying around the Italian political scene, as the public tries to hold their elected representatives accountable.

The director, Claudio Carini, is said to be in shock. He claims he's being vilified all over the Internet as an unscrupulous publicity hound. In effect, he is portraying himself as yet another "victim" of the Foxy Knoxy Phenomenon.

There are rumors running rampant that copies of the film are being auctioned to the highest bidder, but these rumors are being hotly denied.

Is Amanda Knox on holiday at a vacation resort or in prison, charged with the heinous murder of a peer? This question is being kicked around like a football.

"The only thing Amanda Knox should be doing right now is reflecting on what happened that night in Perugia," an MP pronounced.
